1 Thess. 5:16-18
Be Joyful Always, Pray Continually, Give Thanks.
Day 4 in Paraguay, and I finally went and met with the lady who runs the English school. I will be going first on Saturdays, then I will start going Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. If that proves too heavy a work load, I will just do Thursday Friday. While I was in her office, I noticed she had a TON of vocal books for musicals, and I asked her about them and she said if I wanted I could teach songs to Children. When I told her I also can play piano, she was very excited. So I may be singing and playing piano while teaching children english! Weird, huh? So that’s the work I’ll be doing. It’s been really cool being here, hearing spanish all the time. I hope by the end of two months I’ll be a little more proficient. I want to be fluent so badly!
On another topic entirely, I’ve noticed a few things when driving around the city. 1) There are old Volkswagon bugs EVERYWHERE here! They’re called “escarabajos” here, which I believe is spanish for beetle. 2) Everything is so green! It’s winter time, but if you only saw outside, you’d swear it was in the 70’s or 80’s instead of the 40’s and 50’s. And 3) all the street names are famous/important people or places in the world. I saw a City of the Vatican street, and Deany’s brother, Juan Carlos, tells me there is a street named after Walt Disney! I’ll take some pictures and post them soon.
