Wrap Up
Sorry it took a couple of days for a real update. It’s been insane trying to get used to the 14 hour time difference! The flight from Hong Kong to the US was fine! The majority of us were lucky enough to sit in first class with the awesome lie-flat beds. Dad and Michelle had to sit in coach, but we all had a pleasant trip on the plane! The flight to Denver was shorter, only about 3 hours,...

Coming Home!
We’re getting ready to get onto a flight from Hong Kong to the US! This has been an exhausting, but AMAZING trip for all of us. Thank you all so much for keeping us in your prayers throughout these three weeks and even before. We’ve been so blessed! We should be home Saturday night Colorado time.

Nothing so far to take pictures of today, so no pictures… yet. This morning was really slow for most of the Batson family. Jeff, Will, Michelle and I hung out in the hotel rooms while Mom and Dad took Dang Wei to get a check up and some shots. She wasn’t too excited about the shots, and seemed a little apprehensive about the day, but Mom and Dad said she did fine! They got back as I...

Gotcha Day for Dang Wei
Today was Gotcha day. We woke up early this morning to have breakfast, then we had a fifteen minute bus ride to the adoption center. We were told it could be a few hours before all the children arrived, but as soon as we pulled up to the building, our family was the first one called. We met her almost as soon as we walked inside the doors, leaving no time to whip out a camera and video tape it....

Being Comfortable vs Being Obedient
Tonight, our family met to pray and talk about what’s going to happen tomorrow when we finally meet Dang Wei. Our time together made me think about something my good friend Beth says all the time. She says that God doesn’t call us to be comfortable, but that he does call us to be obedient. Sometimes he asks us to do things way outside our comfort zones so that we cannot claim credit...

Welcome to China!
After a three hour plane ride to Seattle, a stay overnight, a ten hour plane ride to Tokyo, and another four hour plane ride from Tokyo to Beijing, we are finally in China! It was a long few days of traveling, and by the end of it most of us were pretty beat. We got in to Beijing around 10:00pm local time, which was about 8:00am In Colorado. Thank you for your prayers for safe travel! We all...

Let's get going...
We begin the first leg of our trip tomorrow! The mission is to get to Seattle, Washington. We’ll spend the night there and be on a flight to Hong Kong the next day. We’re all in a tizzy packing and making sure everything is in order before we leave. My room looks like it got hit by a clothing bomb- No exaggeration. But God is good! Although it’s been a stressful past few days, my...

Coming up!
So we leave for China on Monday! It’s been a busy week already of studying, but today was good! I studied for the wrong exam, however, so I totally winged my Theology exam. that one is completely in the Lord’s hands. It got better though when I made a trip to one of my favorite places (Starbucks) with my beloved Beth. Starbucks makes everything seem less stressful. My dad came into...
